Even though I now don’t try and push my Australian food on unsuspecting Austrians so forcefully, there is one thing that I think deserves a particular mention. Not just for its fabulous taste – best chocolate biscuit in the world, I tell you – but also for the special way us Aussies consume it.

Procure a packet of Tim Tams. Ignore the flavours – just stick with plain old simple original.
Make yourself a hot beverage – coffee is ideal – or hot chocolate if you’re not so into coffee like me.
Bite the opposing corners off one biscuit.
Dip one end into your hot beverage (be quick now) and use the biscuit like a straw, sucking the hot liquid through.
Quickly now! Before the biscuit can dissolve in your hands from the heat, shove it into your mouth. The result? A gooey, warm, chocolatey mess that fills you with happiness.
